This policy explains what information AlgoPuzzle collects when you use algopuzzle.com, why, and what you can do about it. Questions or requests: support@algopuzzle.com.
What we collect
- Strategies you build. The rules, settings and exports of strategies you create are stored so the builder, backtester and exports work and so we can improve AlgoPuzzle. They are not sold to third parties.
- An anonymous device identifier. The first time your browser talks to our API it receives a signed, http-only cookie with a random identifier, used to keep your saved work working and to tell visits apart in our usage statistics. We also store a salted hash of your IP address, not the address itself, to prevent abuse.
- Account data. A free account is required to export strategies and to buy or download marketplace strategies. We store your email address, when you signed up and logged in, what you exported and what you purchased. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us.
- Emails we send you. We use your email address to send messages about the service you use: account confirmation and password resets, purchase receipts, and help with a strategy you exported (for example, how to install it in MetaTrader or cTrader). We only send tips and product news if you have agreed to receive them; every such email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also withdraw that consent by writing to us.
- AI assistant. If you use the builder's AI assistant, your messages and the current strategy are sent to our AI provider to generate a reply. We log usage (time, size of the request, whether a suggestion was applied) to keep costs and limits under control.
- Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation of the payment and the item bought; we never see or store your full card details.
- Usage events. We record product events such as a page being viewed, a backtest being run or a strategy being exported, together with the website that referred you and campaign tags in the link (for example utm_source), so we can see which features are used, where visitors come from and fix problems. For backtests we store only the settings and results, not the strategy itself.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 with Google Consent Mode v2. Analytics cookies are off by default and are only set if you accept them; without consent Google receives only cookieless, aggregated signals.
Who processes it
We use the following service providers to run AlgoPuzzle: Render (application hosting), Cloudflare (website delivery, file storage and incoming email), Supabase (database and accounts), Stripe (payments), Resend (sending email), Anthropic (the AI assistant, only when you use it) and Google (analytics). Each processes data only to provide its service to us.
Why we are allowed to use it
We process account, export, purchase and service-email data because it is needed to provide the service you asked for (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), usage statistics and abuse prevention based on our legitimate interest in running and improving AlgoPuzzle (Art. 6(1)(f)), analytics cookies and marketing emails only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), and purchase records to meet accounting and tax obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)).
How long we keep it
Your account, strategies and usage data are kept while your account exists and the service is operating, or until you ask us to delete them. Purchase records are kept as long as accounting and tax rules require.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the EU GDPR), you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to its use, and you can complain to your local data protection authority. Email support@algopuzzle.com from the address linked to your account. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, and marketing-email consent with the unsubscribe link in any such email.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
