AlgoPuzzle is a browser-based, no-code builder for algorithmic trading strategies. You connect visual blocks for entry rules, risk management and position sizing, and AlgoPuzzle generates real platform code from them: a MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor (.mq5), a MetaTrader 4 Expert Advisor (.mq4) or a cTrader cBot (.cs). Building and exporting are free; building does not require an account, and exporting needs a free account (no card). The built-in backtester is free too and uses the same free account to load its market data.
Who AlgoPuzzle is for
AlgoPuzzle is built for traders who already think in rules - "buy when the fast moving average crosses above the slow one, risk 1% with a stop below the last swing" - but do not want to learn MQL5 or C# to automate them. The goal is to make a strategy testable and executable exactly as written, not to promise that any strategy will be profitable.
What we publish
- The builder - the visual editor and its in-browser backtester.
- The blog - plain-language guides on algorithmic trading, backtesting and risk management.
- Strategy of the Week - independently backtested strategies, with the full statistics shown before anything is bought.
Editorial rules for our articles
Trading content can cost readers real money, so every article on this site follows the same rules:
- No invented statistics. Every number in an article is either checkable arithmetic shown on the page (for example, pip value = pip size × units) or a definitional fact about how a platform works.
- No profit promises. We explain how strategies, costs and risk work; we never claim a strategy or indicator will make money.
- Product mentions are disclosed. AlgoPuzzle is our own product. Where an article compares tools, it says so.
- Corrections. If you find an error, email support@algopuzzle.com and we will fix it and update the page's date.
How backtests on this site are produced
Strategy of the Week results are run on 1-minute MetaTrader 5 price bars with the same engine as the builder's backtester, and that engine is cross-checked against MetaTrader 5's own Strategy Tester. Backtests are hypothetical: they do not include every real-world cost, and past results do not guarantee future results. See our risk disclosure.
